Chef in training.....

This little boy is driving me crazy!! He is climbing everywhere!
The pantry, the cupboards, the counter tops in the bathroom,
and worst of all the refrigerator!!!!

So I went to make cookies and needed eggs, this is what I found when I opened the egg carton. It was full of 24 eggs....I did manage to salvage some of them, but most of them had little poke holes in them and these ones were "stuck" in the carton. I need a lock for the refrigerator.....

Love and Hate playdough.....

This is the scene at our house around 6ish every evening. I am cooking dinner and bigman is tired, hungry, and needing to be with Dad and not Mom! So....out comes the playdough. I love it because it keeps him busy and lets me finish up dinner. I hate it because it is a mess to clean up!! But, I would rather have the mess than the stress.....

Who is this.....

Bigman loves to wear his Buzz light year pj's and run around pretending he is "Buzz"

But the next minute, he has gone downstairs and put on ALL of the princess dress ups(over the Buzz pj's)Ariel, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, and Snow White. So who is he really??
Wish I knew.....

Withdrawl...

We are attempting to quit the binki habit. (or kiki as he lovingly calls them)
During the day the goal is to have NO binkis. During the night I cave in... we all need sleep right now! Summer is when the night use will be cut out. But every once in a while Bigman finds one (or two) during the day and it is really hard to take them away!! Hopefully I can outsmart him and find better hiding spots.....

Waiting and Waiting.....

Sunday evening we had our niece over for dinner. She is at BYU and thought she might like a home cooked meal. Sis #3 started asking 3 hours before her arrival time,"when will she be here?" Finally @ 6 pm I told her to go and watch for her. This is where she sat for 35 min.

Here is the happy arrival of our wonderful dinner guest. And everyone is thrilled!! She even got a piece of the fallen over cake.....

Smith Island Cake.....

Here is my attempt at the wonderful smith island cake. It is a 10 layer cake that takes forever to make but is so incredibly wonderful that I tried to make it. Now I realize that it is not a pretty looking cake. But it was my first attempt.

This was the results. After I frosted it, (which by the way, the frosting took over an hour to make) I went to watch the movie that my family had started, and when we came up the stairs this is what we found. I was so upset!! I had put lots of time and effort into this cake! After chatting with my friend and expert on the cake, I found out I used the wrong size pan, and too much batter in the pan. It did taste really great. Hopefully I can correct this problem next time and it won't fall over.....

Happy Birthday Sis #1!

Sis # 1 turned 14!! I can't believe she is that old,

Her new Mia Maid teacher and class dropped by a cute candy bar card

And we had a great dinner together. She also went ice skating with some friends later on in the week. I sure love and appreciate all Sis #1 does in our family!! I hope her wishes and dreams come true this year....
