Las Vegas Ragnar Relay.....

Thursday afternoon I headed toward Vegas with 6 other ladies in a suburban. We were part of a team of twelve ladies that would run 195 miles!! We started in the Valley of Fire and ran to Las Vegas. Each team member ran 3 different "legs" of the race, and once it started, it lasted until you finished it. It took our team 32 1/2 hours!! I had a great time...living in the suburban, eating trail mix and cliff bars, drinking Gatorade, and not sleeping and of course running! Here is our full team of Lady Luckier women at the finish line!!!

I am waiting for my turn to run!! It was 3am and freezing cold...super dark and a little scary, but I have a smile on my face. It took a lot of commitment to train for this major event, I have been training since July!! People ask me if I would do it again?
I don't know the answer yet.....

First 10K....

I don't have any pics of this event...but it IS blog worthy.... On Oct. 16th @ 8am me and my cute husband were out running my first 10k. I had done a 5k earlier, but I decided to go big and try a 10k. I did pretty good....the first couple of miles were hard, but then I got into the groove and I finished in 70 min.!!! (not breaking any speed records but the fact that I finished was great!!) Now I am moving on to bigger and better....(soon to be posted)

Food and Marbles.....

A couple of weeks ago, I was able to go on a little vacation back to DC and to Maryland. My best friend is from Maryland. She showed me all the fun and exciting places to visit. Have any of you ever had Thrasher's Fry's?? We are talking WONDERFUL!! At ocean city, people will stand in line for 45 min. for these beauties.....(served with vinegar!)

This fabulous cake is the crowning jewel of all!! This is a smith island cake. Now, if you can see, there are 10 layers to this cake!! With fudge frosting between each layer. Need I say more??? Other than THANK YOU Hilda for making that wonderful beauty. It is very time consuming and I will attempt it one day.....

And last but not least, the marble board! This is a lot like the game sorry. Only played with marbles and a few different "rules". And just for the record, I never ever won......
